Welcome to

You are in the apartment Lake LADOGA.

DEAR VISITOR:

The source of life on planet Earth is water. Only 1% of this water is SWEET WATER.

The largest reserve of fresh water is in the lakes. It is so commonplace in our lives that we do not pay attention to it.

8 lacus wants to pay homage to water.

Remind all your visitors, guests and friends of the importance of your existence. The increasing lack of water on the planet, the so-called “water deficit”, should make us aware of nature’s greatest asset.

For this reason, we have chosen 8 lakes of the world to identify our apartments. Each of them has been illustrated with photographs by renowned artists. We would like you to enjoy looking at them and help you remember how important water is.

Did you know that…?

There are 35 rivers flowing into Lake Ladoga and only one flows from there.

Lake Ladoga is the largest lake in Europe, located in Russia, near the Finnish border. In its interior there are 660 islands. The Ladoga is part of two important lake-river routes: the Volga-Baltic waterway and the White Sea-Baltic canal.

Lake Ladoga has an area of 17,700 km2. Its average depth is estimated at 51 meters. The volume of Lake Ladoga is approx. 837 km3. With the current consumption (in Spain) of 140 liters per person per day, and assuming a complete annual replenishment, it could supply the needs of of the world’s population for approximately 3 years.
