The source of life on planet Earth is water. Only 1% of this water is SWEET WATER.

The largest reserve of fresh water is in the lakes. It is so commonplace in our lives that we do not pay attention to it.

8 lacus wants to pay homage to water.

Remind all your visitors, guests and friends of the importance of your existence. The increasing lack of water on the planet, the so-called “water deficit”, should make us aware of nature’s greatest asset.

For this reason, we have chosen 8 lakes of the world to identify our apartments. Each of them has been illustrated with photographs by renowned artists. We would like you to enjoy looking at them and help you remember how important water is.

The lake and its lake basin are considered the most extensive karst complex in Spain.

The lake of Banyoles is the largest lake in the province of Girona and in Catalonia. It is the main symbol of the city of Banyoles. The lake and its lake basin constitute an environmental system of remarkable value. Many scientists maintain that the origin of the lake’s waters is related to the losses of the Ter and Fluvià rivers. In 1992 it was fitted out for the rowing competition of the XXV Olympic Games.

It contains approximately 560 million liters. Despite its enormous volume, with the current consumption (in Spain) of 140 liters per person per day, and assuming a complete annual replenishment, it could supply the needs of a city of only 11,000 inhabitants.
