Welcome to

You are in the apartment Lake VICTORIA.

DEAR VISITOR:

The source of life on planet Earth is water. Only 1% of this water is SWEET WATER.

The largest reserve of fresh water is in the lakes. It is so commonplace in our lives that we do not pay attention to it.

8 lacus wants to pay homage to water.

Remind all your visitors, guests and friends of the importance of your existence. The increasing lack of water on the planet, the so-called “water deficit”, should make us aware of nature’s greatest asset.

For this reason, we have chosen 8 lakes of the world to identify our apartments. Each of them has been illustrated with photographs by renowned artists. We would like you to enjoy looking at them and help you remember how important water is.

Did you know that…

Its waters are distributed among three countries: Kenya (6% of the total), Tanzania (49%) and Uganda (45%).

Lake Victoria is located in east-central Africa, surrounded by Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. It extends over an area of 69,482 km2 and at its deepest point it reaches a depth of 82 m. It is the second largest freshwater lake on Earth, after Lake Superior in North America.

The surface area of Lake Victoria is 68,100 km2 and has an average depth of 40 meters. The volume of Lake Victoria is approximately 2,724 km3. With the current consumption (in Spain) of 140 liters per person per day, and assuming a complete annual replenishment, it could supply the needs of of the world’s population for approximately 9 years.
